Interior paint, Low VOC
Posted by admin, 5:21 AM

In keeping with the green building theme, and LEED certification, we are using low VOC paints, per the Green Seal standards body. We used Kelley Moore Enviro-Cote since it meets the LEED requirements for low VOCs and the painter thinks the performance is the same as “regular” paint, meaning there’s no drawback to using it. Except that it’s not potentially hazardous to your health, and not known by the State of California to cause cancer. The painter also informed me that very few customers “special order” such products, and he was concerned that it was cost prohibitive, though it was surprisingly “only a buck more a gallon” once he actually checked with the supplier. I love making these easy green building choices.
