The Bar is Raised – Platinum in Kansas

The city of Greensburg, Kansas has just announced a commitment to certifying all city buildings at the LEED Platinum level. In case you are wondering about the countless other great cities that have led before them, because you’ve never even heard of Greensburg, and maybe never been to Kansas, I will gladly provide you with a comprehensive list of all the other cities to have gone before Greensburg. In fact, I’ve been able to compile the list here, today, to present to anyone who wants to know how long Greensburg waited before finally just jumping on that bandwagon and going Platinum with the rest of the crowd. Here’s the list:
#1 Greensburg, Kansas. End of list.
I live in progressive Seattle Washington and would expect to be on the list before Greensburg, Kansas, but too late. Now at least we can look to their example and be #2, right? Mayor Nickels? City Council members? I’m a builder and I’m asking for it.
