View Haus 5 Wins 1st Place in PHIUS Awards

We’re proud to announce that our View Haus 5 project, Seattle’s first Passive House-constructed townhome project, has received the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS) Completion Award. The award was established to recognize the best certified Passive House projects in the US, exemplifying passive building practices, and accelerating adoption of passive building in the North American marketplace.

View Haus 5 sets the bar for future high-performance projects of its kind. Delivering healthy indoor air, thermal comfort and quiet in the city’s urban core, the project was designed by the award-winning b9 Architects and named for its five distinct home designs that share views of the Cascade Mountains. With a mix of modern 3-story townhomes, View Haus 5 bucks the cookie-cutter trend with beautiful individually designed units featuring reclaimed wood, bright, open spaces, and sleek styling. These 100+ year homes are built to last with top-of-the-line mechanical systems and sustainable finishes, including a Zhnder HRV for healthy indoor air, a Mitsubishi Electric mini-split that is 3x more efficient than traditional HVAC, high-performance European tilt & turn windows from Zola, Roxul Insulation, and zero VOC paints.

View Haus 5 was certified by the Passive House Institute US. Joe Giampietro, NK Architects, served as the Passive House consultant.
