Located in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood, Common Lakeview is a 4-story apartment building with 32 Small Efficiency Dwelling Units (SEDU), seven with loft storage space, and one 1 bedroom loft unit. Designed by Nieman Taber Architects, Common Lakeview provides a contemporary twist on Seattle’s historic brick apartments by using Oko Skin with stretcher (running) bond installation, which is similar the brick installed on neighboring buildings. The design maximizes daylight for interior units and exterior spaces, and minimizes shading on adjacent sites. Occupants enjoy a community deck that overlooks South Lake Union for both entertaining or solitude. Positioned on a small urban infill lot, the project is 15, 615 SF, achieving 4-star Built Green certification. Energy efficient equipment and appliances used throughout will help to minimize the building’s impact on the environment. The project was completed in 2019.
